My Story

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was the artsy kid — constantly inspired by nature, music, fashion, and self-expression. At 14, I discovered rock ’n’ roll and punk, and everything clicked. It was the first time I saw people expressing their individuality unapologetically — through their hair, clothes and art. I thought to myself those were my people and who I wanted to be.

I started upcycling secondhand clothing, designing my own outfits, and cutting and coloring my own hair. By 16, I had built a DIY hair studio in my parents’ garage while finishing high school and attending beauty school. A year later, I graduated with my California cosmetology license and completed a training program through FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), knowing traditional academics weren’t my path. I was meant to build a creative life on my own terms. Now, with over 20 years behind the chair, I’m living that dream.

In 2005, I trained at Peter Thomas Hair Design in Berkeley, California — a high-end salon known for advanced education and precision work with all hair textures. I worked there until 2011 before relocating to Portland, where I’ve continued to evolve my craft. Along the way, I became an educator for Kevin Murphy and have completed extensive advanced training in cutting, coloring, and styling.

Outside of the salon I love to spend time training in performance arts, making costumes, traveling, doing hot yoga, making my cozy home a sanctuary and spending time with my friends, family and two cats. I’ve always been a multi-faceted artist with roots in both visual and performance art, and I remain active in the local arts community.

Behind the chair, I specialize in customized hair cutting and color with a signature edge — rock ’n’ roll–inspired shags and bobs, creative color placement, rich dimensional brunettes, blonding, grey blending, and curly cutting + styling. I’m especially passionate about creating looks that enhance your features, work with your natural texture, and feel effortless to maintain at home.

I exclusively use high-end, vegan, and eco-conscious color and product lines because I believe beauty should never come at the expense of our health or the planet. Sustainability and ingredient transparency matter — to me and to the clients who sit in my chair.

Our session doesn’t end when you leave the salon. I’m committed to creating looks that last. That means personalized home-care guidance, styling education, and a long-term plan so you feel confident and supported until your next visit. My goal is to make you feel beautiful with hair that is elevated, intentional, and unapologetically you.
